Chief Operating Officer

Hey everyone! My name is Natalie Watson, a junior at the University of South Carolina studying International Business, Management Entrepreneurship, and Spanish. On campus I work for the Substance Abuse Prevention and Education office, which aims to help students build a healthy relationship with drugs and alcohol.

Through my work, I have noticed a strong correlation to drug/alcohol abuse and mental illness. So, when I first heard of Just in Time Prevention, I knew it was a cause I needed to get involved in. I’ve been working with Brecken since April 2021 and cannot wait to see the impact this program has on many students my age!

Founder & CEO

Hey ya'll! My name is Brecken Hobbs and I am a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina as of May 2019!  After majoring in Management & Marketing, I was offered a job that brought me to Nashville, TN.  I am a South Carolina Native but, Nashville has been my happy home for 3 years now! In addition to bringing JTP to life, I also work full-time as a Media Marketing Manager for Cusick Media.

After losing John, my first love, at only 21 years old, I realized the harsh reality of addiction. I also realized the overall negligence of drug education in our society, more importantly in our young adults.

The idea and creation of this course started my senior year of college, all beginning with a school project. From there, it hit me, this could really be something. With the help of my team and professional editors and reviewers, we have written this course from the ground up. These past three years have been a challenge, but every time a door shut, another opened and here we are.

College is supposed to be the building blocks for your future, and sadly, more and more everyday, it’s becoming the opposite. I want this course to give students the education I wish we had when I was in school. I want to give students the resources and motivation to care for their mental health, just as much as their physical. And most importantly, I want to help reduce the negatives.

Data Anaylst

Hello everyone, my name is Thomas Strandquist! I am a Grand Valley State University graduate as of 2016 with a degree in Business Administration. I currently work full time as a Learning Analytics Consultant for Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. I was happy to come down to Nashville in 2019, and finally escape the cold of my hometown, Michigan!

In my current role, I focus on consolidating, organizing, analyzing, and presenting data through visualization. My data insights help leaders make informed strategic decisions, establish best practices, and showcase the value their training provides. Aside from my professional background, I have personally seen the negative effects drug abuse can have on relationships between family and friends. Having been out of school multiple years, I now see how negative relationships with drugs in college can leak into your professional and personal life well after. I believe an informed population is a safe population. With that being said, I’m very happy to be a part of Just in Time Prevention and see the difference this course can make!
